Gregory Body was a member of the All American Service Persons (AASP) organization and died from a long battle with cancer in September 2021. He was instrumental in founding the Corvette Club of Jackson, MS where hundreds of Corvette owners participated in his annual car shows. A large portion of the profits from these shows were donated to the AASP organization.
The scholarship was developed in his honor and is to be given to a deserving graduating senior from the high school that Gregory Body attended.
Following the criteria set by the scholarship foundation and the school, faculty members assist in selecting the deserving student(s). Although the car show has been renamed to Vettes for Vets and under new leadership, the deserving student(s) is presented the scholarship during the annual car show in May of each year.
